Well run smaller park, with sites reasonably level and well spaced. Its close to highway but no undue noise. An easy walk to everything in the park, good Wi-Fi at sites and garbage pickup at sites. At check-in you are given a very nice set of guides to the area. Would definitely stay again.

This really is an excellent park, but only if you can get a site on the upper level. When we were there the short term people were placed on a much lower elevation which meant that getting to the wash room and laundry required a 30-40 ft climb. Another negative factor was that the internet is now $7 a day extra.

If you enjoy small quiet campgrounds and your equipment is not too big, you will like this park. It is clean, well maintained and has easy lake access for water craft. The back-in sites are on the lakeside and the pull-thru sites are across the road from them. Just be sure to check if the site is level enough for your rig before registering since there are not many sites and some are not very level. They have Wi-Fi at the library (beside the pull-thru sites) and a large number of books for exchange.

This park has two sections; one section has relatively small sites in a heavily wooded area, the other is on an open hillside with long, relatively wide terraced pull-through sites. There is a nice view to the north from the pull-through sites but there can be quite a bit of traffic noise from time to time from the highway at the base of the hill. A wide space as been left between the two rows of pull-through sites so that long rigs can easily get in and out.

I agree with the previous comments. The only change is that they now provide free WiFi instead of a Good Sam discount. We were on the west edge, center row and the WiFi had low strength - only one of our computers could pick it up. Its a clean, well run park with good facilities but the highway noise is annoying during the day so I would not stay here again.

Very interesting place to camp - great views of the ocean from most sites. The pull-thru sites on top of the hill are level and good for long units. The grassy sites lower down on the hill are not very level for motor homes but being close to the crashing waves can be interesting. Tent camping is very good but be aware that the wind can get very strong right on the ocean.

A very nice RV Park. The beach is great and there are some interesting rock formations a short walk down the beach. The park is large though and the WiFi is limited to the immediate office area and there is only a central garbage facility so if you have a Motor home you might have quite a walk. The island folk are extremely friendly and helpful. Our motor home broke down in front of a home on a Sunday afternoon and the owner diagnosed it as an alternator failure, took the alternator away, had it rebuilt and had us going again within two hours. Just amazing.

A well organized, well maintained campground. Most 3 way service sites are back-in and the space available to back in a long trailer is quite limited. The sites are relatively narrow and most are back to back. The main camping area is surrounded by trees and this is both pleasing and reduces the road noise to an acceptable level. The Wi-Fi works well. Its a good place to stop on a Gaspe tour.

A very nice smaller park for an overnight stay. The park is on several levels but each site has been carefully leveled prior to planting the grass. There are some very interesting no-service sites along the water edge for tents and small campers. There are only a few sites with 30 amp service, the rest are 15 amp. Wi-Fi is $3 extra and was continuously intermittent. Most sites have a nice view of the ocean and there are some interesting walks.

This is a fairly rustic camp and will not appeal to everyone. There are a variety of site types. The hill sites require quite a bit of maneuvering for large RVs. There are also 50 amp sites on the level and some grassy 15 amp sites for campers and smaller RVs. Only some of the hill sites and the grassy sites actually have a clear ocean view. The Wi-Fi indicates that it is good but it is extremely slow to load pages. Overall we were disappointed and only stayed one night.

A very well setup and maintained campground on a large sandbar across the harbor entry. All sites are level, well grass covered and quite large. There are 18 pull thru sites with 3-way 30 amp service and about 50 back-in sites with 30 amp service. The internet service is free and extremely fast. The condition of the beach probably varies from storm to storm. While we were there it had stone regions and sandy regions. There is no ocean view from most sites but the beach is all along one side of the campground.

This is mainly a seasonal park but they have about 8 sites along the St. Lawrence River for over nighters that are very nice. The park is well kept, the management is French speaking but very friendly with sufficient English to make you feel welcome. No road noise but occasional noisy speedboats on the river. I would go out of my way to stay here again. Reservations mandatory due to limited space.

This is an older campground with all of the short term sites in a well treed area. There is one row of pull-thru sites but they have not been leveled. The rest of the sites are fairly close together and relatively small with cars parked along the edge of narrow roads. There is an extra charge for the pool and water slide.

This is a large, well organized and well run RV Park. Most sites are partially shaded, the 50 amp pull-thru sites are in the open, closest to the river front, however there is no access to the water. From a motor home point of view there are two problems; the garbage bins and the washrooms are both quite a distance from the pull-thru sites. The free Wi-Fi access is only in the office building and even that is very spotty.

Very nice RV Park. Quiet, away from the highway and other sources of noise, but just a short drive off the main highway. The pull-thru sites are large, driveways are level gravel, picnic table on well kept grass, every site has several trees but not so large as to obstruct use of satellite systems. Free WiFi available but it was weak and intermittent when we were there (they had a rep there to fix it). We would definitely camp here again.

This is a pleasant park, well away from highways, railways etc. The campsites are in a pine forest with medium high trees so they are shaded except at noonday, but all lower branches have been removed so one can see the whole campground. All sites are good-sized pull-thru but they have not been graveled or leveled for many years so obtaining a site level enough for a motor home requires some selection. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

Well looked after park. Close to Interstate but its lightly traveled at night and the highway runs in a bit of a cut by the campground which reduces noise. Wi-Fi signal varies, even near the office. Lots of books to trade. Good place to stop.

This is an older campground, most of it covered with high mature trees giving good shade. There are both trailer sites and tent sites available close to and overlooking the lake. All sites have a large concrete patio pad and WiFi. There are boat docking facilities available but, there is no swimming in the lake due to weeds. The pool is a good size but 10-20 active children can make it impossible for adults to use it. The 2008 rates are quite a bit more expensive than comparable parks elsewhere but the park seemed to be almost full.

Most of the sites in this park are well treed and have dense bushes between sites. There are also full hookup pull-through 50 amp sites in the open for those who want them. Sites are a bit narrow but you can use slideouts on one side and an awning on the other with no problem. Most sites are dirt with some grass at the side. This is a problem when it rains.

This campground stretches along the lake such that about 1/3 of the campsites are next to the beach and the others are close. The beach is sandy but many areas this year were covered in small stones which made it difficult to walk in bare feet. The water of Lake Superior is very cold but the views and sunsets are great. The lake can be perfectly flat some days and other days there will be 3 ft waves - very impressive. The electric pull thru sites are not very level and some are very narrow. The roads are also narrow - about 11 ft between trees so it is not possible to turn long trailers or motor homes into many of the sites that are classified as large. Be very careful entering this park with large RV units.

Close to Interstate, so somewhat noisy. Set in the desert with a good view of the mountains. Sites are level but quite narrow, no fun being outside. Staff are very friendly and accomodating. Nature trail and pancake breakfast, Saturday and Sundays.

Nice, well kept place, far enough from the interstate that road noise is not a problem. Gravel roads & driveways, good grass between sites. About one quarter are shaded, rest are not. Pool nicely setup but small. WiFi service faded sometimes but was acceptable.

Pleasant, well kept RV park. As is typical in this area, the whole park is gravel which is groomed each day. Most sites are level and there are trees and flowering bushes around the edge of the park and between levels but few sites with shade. Very helpful staff, many snow-bird campers which means that the WiFi is excellent. No lake view and the lake is a very long walk away.

The previous comments are right on. Very pleasant place to stay when they are not too busy, however the sites are quite narrow and you would share the outdoor space with your neighbor when all sites are in use. The park is away from the road and over the hill so it is quite quiet.

This resort is mainly a place to stay so you, your family and your friends can use the terrific water park. About half of the sites are shaded and a few sites have paved driveways. The majority of the sites are completely grassed and under the grass is a narrow, not level gravel driveway. We were there Friday and the campsites filled up very fast. Most sites had 2 or 3 vehicles which were parked all over making entry for large vehicles very difficult. After sunset the park was very quiet. We are seniors and we had a great day at the water park.

Most campsites are shaded by medium size trees but the roads and sites are a dusty sand and gravel mixture making for a dusty situation. Staff were friendly and helpful and there are many amenities for children. However, compared to what we could see of other parks closer to the National Parks, it wasn't worth the 5 mile drive south of town.

This is a very nice campground. Large mature trees throughout the park are a real treat at 100F. There are gravel roads and driveways; most sites seem quite level. There is a nice lush grass area with a good picnic table beside each site. Wi-Fi so far has been excellent (perhaps because we are fairly close to the office). The park is a bit hard to find, but it's really worth the hunt.

This is a destination RV park for touring the Grand Teton Park. It is in a dense lodge pole pine forest with separate (mostly pull-through) sites quite close together. The edge of the lake, with a terrific view of the Tetons, is a short walk away. They advertise WiFi but it can only be used in the cabin office, a 10-20 minute walk from the RV park. The boat tour is a good value. Reservations are a must.

Neat and clean RV park with gravel roads and driveways; some grass between the water and electric sites. All sites are quite narrow and would feel cramped when they are all in use. WiFi at the edge of the park was weak and intermittent. Stores are near by.

Very well built RV Park in an urban setting (you cannot see the city from the park). Paved roads, paved drive, level concrete pads, lots of space between sites. Some loops are full service and there is a WiFi service included in the cost. We were on the outer edge of Goldrush and the WiFi was weak and intermittent. The washrooms are absolutely first class. Road noise is noticeable at rush hour, not too bad after that. Note: in addition to the campsite cost and the reservation cost, there is also an $8 daily park cost.

This park is in the desert outside of Tucson, far enough from the interstate and the railroad to be peaceful. The roads are paved, the sites are level gravel, there are some trees and several cactus gardens. The sites are quite wide, allowing you to angle an RV to increase the shade. The pool and patio area are quite nice and there is a covered area for shade. Quite a nice place to stay if you don't mind being 10-15 miles from the city. (ps - the April 08 review seems to be for a different park)

The camp ground has quite a few medium sized trees, and the massive canyon walls on both sides of the park are really amazing, especially in early morning and late evening light. Some roads are paved, the rest are gravel. Sites are gravel and quite variable in how level they are. Some sites are right beside open trash dumpsters and the Wi-Fi was out of service. When asked when it might be working we were told that it was out of service indefinitely. There is a town shuttle bus stop just outside the campground, and where it drops you off it's a short walk to the park shuttle. Using both shuttles I was able to get to the last park stop in one hour at a busy time of the day. The problem is that from the bus one cannot really see the canyon walls so be prepared to get out and walk at several stops.

Pleasant spot, gravel roads and drive ways. All campsites are pull thrus, with grass between. The drive ways are quite level. The back half of the park is far enough from the interstate that road noise is not a problem. Some sites are shaded and the WiFi service is very good.

A real gem of an RV Park. The trees are a real treat in this part of the country and there is a grass area between sites. The roads and drives are level gravel but the picnic table patio is concrete. The owners are very helpful and it is a real quiet location. They have campsites on two levels; the lower level sites back onto a fast moving irrigation canal. I'm sure that children are welcome but there are no play facilities. Wi-Fi is weak and intermittent.

Clean, quiet, well shaded campground away from main roads and trains. Right beside a historic canal and they have canoes and kayaks for rent. Also have a variety of pedal carts for rent. Gravel driveways and roads starting to get thin so bit muddy when it rains. Good place for a stop.

Like most parks in the SW the roads and sites were gravel, and there were a few trees in the park. Since there are not many parks to choose from here, the price was good but many sites are not level. The Wi-Fi was down and the office staff didn't care, stating that it wasn't their problem.

A large park with considerable separation between the various campgrounds and the beach access. Only the Riverside CG was open in May - it has some electric sites along the edge of the river and most sites are shaded. The overall size, level and privacy of campsites varies considerably. If driving a motor home you will need to checkout the suitability of the available sites. From Riverside CG its about a 3 mi drive to the beach area where you walk across large sand dunes to a long sandy beach.

A really great RV Park in a beautiful spot, surrounded by rocky mountains, mirrored in a lake on the edge of the campground. Wild deer grazing by your trailer, small full-service town on the other side of the campground. Terrific mountain views along the park roads. Highly recommended and don't forget to get reservations early.

Nicely kept, quiet park with large sites. Quite open at moment since trees have only been growing a few years. Washrooms, showers and laundry very well done. Several large ponds within the campsite layout add interest. A large number of additional sites being added around another pond. Wireless internet worked very well.

This is a wooded park well off the highway with mainly pull-thru sites. We didn't find any problem with the water and the wireless internet is very good. The full service pull-thru sites are narrow, the elect & water back-in sites are better and not as heavily used. It is certainly the best in this area, the KOA is a very spartan spot right on the edge of the Interstate.

This is an older park with angled pull-thru sites arranged in rows, with shade trees. There is good separation with grass between the sites. It is close to the interstate, but quite a deep park, so the noise near the back is not too bad. The wireless internet at the sites is very good and the gravel road in was not a significant problem when we were there.

Nicely shaded RV Park with reasonable grassy separation between sites. Little difficult to find, on south-west corner of the city about half mile south off the TransCanada highway but its worth finding since the alternatives seem to quite poor.

The previous review gave a good overview. I would add that at the east end of the long sandy beach (too cold for most people) there is a rocky point which makes for an interesting hike. On windy days with the waves crashing over the rocks you would think you were on the East Coast. Very nice park with good sites for large rigs in area 1.

This park consists of well separated sites in a wooded area. It is close to the highway but there is little traffic at night. The sites are long and reasonably level, the washrooms are very nice. Great spot if you prefer "camping" instead of a paved RV park.

This park has many large, well separated, well shaded, quite level sites for those who enjoy a "camping" type experience. Water hookups not available but at the dump station a fresh water hose is available to fill water tanks. The waterfalls is also quite a sight - well worth dropping in just for that reason. This park is about 20 minutes west of Thunder Bay, at the town of Kakabeka Falls.

Good stopover park between Sudbury and Sault Ste Marie. Half-mile off the highway on west edge of Massey. Large, shaded, quite level, well separated sites. Freshwater available at dump station from hose. Quiet park with nice short trails to view several water falls on small river running through the park. Some sites are a little tight for full-size class A rigs but manageable.

This complex includes a pullthru RV Park, a water-electric back-in area, a tent camping area, a large motel, and a permanent trailer park; all nicely separated. It also has an indoor water slide, pool, hot tub, and children's pool. The full service sites are a bit close together, separated with fences. The water-electric and tent sites are in a nice grassy area. Nice place, minimal highway noise, no trains, close to Wal-Mart and other stores. WIFI available at all sites but some distant sites have poor reception.

This is an older park with paved roads and paved picnic table area but most sites are gravel. Pullouts cannot be used near the hookups but fortunately the back-in sites are very deep so a motor home or trailer can be positioned so as to extend the pullouts. The surrounding area is very nice and the extra long sites make the roads seem very wide. The drive from Crescent City is through an incredible stand of large Redwoods.

Small, friendly, very quiet and peaceful RV park. Full hookups, cable tv, dial-up modem in laundry room (no wifi), fire rings. Easy walk into Patrick's Point State Park which is across the road to see the ocean and seal lions. The price quoted is for pond-side sites, others cheaper. Great place for a rest. Cash or check as they don't accept credit cards.

This is a pleasant lake-side park with lots of trees for shade. The pull-thrus are on grass, shaded and have picnic tables and a good separation from the next site. The park is about a quarter of a mile from the Interstate so noise in minimal. The Lake-side sites may all be long-term or seasonal but since they are spaced far apart all sites have nice lake views. Overall, very nice, especially for a KOA.

This is a tight, small park in two levels on a steep slope with a view of a wide set of rocks or rapids below (depending on water level). It has very tight curves and I recommend against taking large rigs into it. The view is very pretty but the sites are gravel and the highway is very close.

Interesting park on an long narrow island in the Mississippi River. Most sites well shaded, park well kept, most waterfront sites are seasonal rentals but since the park is so narrow, the river is never far away. The beach is very small and weedy. No highway noise but when we were there there was a very loud rock concert in the park across the street.
07/2007

The overnighters are assigned to a line of pull throughs where there is very little space between RVs; certainly no room for picnic tables and you share a narrow spot for chairs. A number of the RV parks along I-80 thru Wyoming are like this but overall I think that the KOA would have been a better choice at Cheyenne. The main advantage at AB Camp is that it is some distance from the interstates and quite quiet. Initially the office assigns RVs to every second pull-thru so this CG would probably be ok in spring or fall.
07/2007
rating [ 7/10 ]
The new section on this park is one of the best that we have seen all across I-80 in Wyoming since there was a good sized separation between the pull-thru sites with grass and a table. The quality of the new washroom was very good, similar to those new office buildings. The park does display the Good Sam logo but it is not clear that they are a member any more. They are across a road from I-80 and the road noise was not excessive. We thought it was the best overnight park for many miles.

This is a large park with a number of different campgrounds. We were assigned to Hemlock which is a run-down state park type of place with very small sites. We complained and got our money back and left. True it has all the facilities but if you use a motorhome its a real long walk. They also offer full hookups in one campground that is quite a bit better quality but still not the quality that you would expect for the price.

The previous review of this park was so good we had to go and see it. So we did and got a bit of a shock - this campground is essentially on top of the mountain and it is accessed by a steep, relatively narrow, 2 lane, well paved road up the side of the mountain with rock on one side and nothing on the other. Judging by the large number of local people, that we enjoyed Sunday afternoon there, they were not concerned by the road. BUT, if I had met another motor home on the road we might still be there deciding who had the nerve to back up. Apart from the road, the campground experience was great.

This park has two basic sections. The upper section (by I-80)has been modernize with large concrete pads and new picnic tables surrounded by well kept grounds. Some are available but many are seasonal. The lower section (away from the noise of I-80) are fairly basic, less expensive and in a pretty valley. The pool and washroom facilities are excellent.

Very nice change from parking lot type RV parks. All pads are paved and well separated from each other under mature trees. There is a swimming beach which was well used. It is only separated from I-80 by the small lake but the park is quite large and perhaps because of the trees, the noise level was minimal. It is also a good place for a picnic. There are several places where fresh water can be obtained with a hose and there is a sewage dump.

Walnut Grove has an interesting "Little House on the Prairie" museum, dugout house site and special outdoor drama on several weekends in the summer.
